Pepe pens Real deal
Pepe has signed a contract extension at Real Madrid that commits the defender to the Spanish giants until 2017.
The Portugal worldwide had entered the final year of his deal and, after Sergio Ramos penned an extension earlier this week, the club have moved to tie down another long-term servant.
Pepe’s existing contract was expiring next summer and now he has agreed with the club to extend it by a further year.
The 32-year-old centre-back made 25 league starts for Real last season to help the club finished second in La Liga.
Pepe has been with Los Blancos since his arrival in 2007 from FC Porto and has gone on to become one of the defensive mainstays at the club.
Pepe’s deal was due to expire at the end of the current season.
Speaking of Ramos, the Spaniard himself was the talk of this summer transfer window after heavy speculations of him leaving the 32-time La Liga champions for Manchester United grew in stature.
