Red Ash Teased, Possible Mega Man Legends Successor
While Mighty No. 9 was inspired by the side-scrolling Mega Man games, RED ASH draws from the 3D spin-off series Mega Man Legends.
Fans are speculating that this is going to be the spiritual successor to the popular Mega Man legends.
Based on the art and on the dialogue in the trailer and the way it was announced, Red Ash: The Indelible Legend is nearly certainly the Mega Man Legends successor that fans were hoping for.
In terms of what to expect out of the game itself, Comcept says the title will be a action adventure game with third person shooter and RPG elements. Inafune and his team are looking to raise $800,000 on Kickstarter, and at the time of this writing they’ve broken through the $200k barrier by a few thousand.
These RED ASH projects will share character concepts and the world of treasure hunters who seek treasure and feral robots who hunt humans.
Comcept has released a new trailer to tease the company’s next project after the completion of Mighty No. 9. Meanwhile, Studio 4°C are asking $150,000 for the anime.
So early in the campaign not much else is known about what is planned for these dual projects, however It is most likely assured that if they are received well, backers will get quite a bit for the funds they donate. However, they don’t plan to fund the game entirely through Kickstarter.
The prologue chapter is called the KalKanon Incident, and will serve as a “key jumping-on point for the universe”.
The RED ASH project will be launched as two separate Kickstarters. Since then comcept Inc. has worked on a wide range of content, from social and consumer games to print books.
Additionally, there is a second Red Ash Kickstarter, which aims to produce an animated series to accompany the game. Five miutes! Stretch goals will extend the episodes into multiple larger parts, and should the Kickstarter’s real goal of $2,480,000 be reached, Red Ash: Magicicada will be made into a feature length movie.
