George Clooney wins surveillance battle
Celebrity super couple, George and Amal Clooney have received permission to install CCTV cameras around their £10 million Berkshire home, even though some of their neighbour are less than pleased about it. The initial application sparked objections from residents of the Thameside village, who feared the cameras would violate their privacy.
Eye and Dunsden Parish Council initially raised concerns over privacy and the CCTV system’s visual impact.
Clooney’s planning agent submitted a revised application on 13 July, reducing the height of the two highest CCTV posts, and now authorities have approved the amended proposal, declaring the cameras “would not be detrimental to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building or its setting”.
Mr and Mrs Clooney are set to move into the 17th-century Mill House later this year once the renovations are complete.
The council’s decision notice, dated Monday, August 3, added that the work must be carried out within three years of the date of consent.
It is located on an island in the River Thames on the county border between Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin are reportedly feuding over George’s legendary Lake Como villa. If you want to believe the tabloid blogs, the couple has been fighting non-stop all because Amal supposedly wants George to get rid of all his “Bachelor pads” before they settle down in their home in England together.
George and his wife bought their mansion last October after tying the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Venice.
“Ever since he bought it he’s dreamed of making it his full-time home”, the source said, noting the Tomorrowland actor additionally owns mansions in LA, Los Cabos, Mexico and the English countryside.
