Fort Bend County authorities say one man was arrested Sunday after police received reports of gunfire from the roof of an elementary school about 25 miles southwest of Houston.
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies said one suspect in his 20s was shooting a pistol from the roof while the other suspect in his 30s was playing bagpipes on the roof. The Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office and Rosenberg Police Department responded to the scene.
Two adult males were taken into custody at the school.
There were no injuries.
Police are looking into how the bagpipes player was related to the man firing shots from the school’s roof.
One handgun and two shell casings were recovered from the school.
Lamar Consolidated Independent School District confirmed the news through social media and sent email notifications to parents of the school, ensuring them that the campus is now safe and secure.
