The divisive Donald Trump brings campaign to Michigan
Popular Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly used tough tactics when questioning Trump during last Thursday’s debate, particularly when asking him about having called women “dogs” and “fat pigs”.
Trump has been in the spotlight since dominating the Republican party’s first televised debate last week, in which he sparred with the network’s Megyn Kelly on the issue of his treatment of women.
“As far as I’m concerned, I’m fine with it”, Trump told CNN’s “New Day” Tuesday morning after concluding a brief phone interview with “Fox & Friends” in which Trump made no mention of Kelly or her questions.
And while news outlets around the country are discussing the “scandal” it seems that Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is setting the record straight-with his Donald Trump impression. “I want to get publicity making America great again”, Trump said.
Trump did not back off, saying that he had nothing to apologize for, that he had meant “ears” or “nose” when he said “wherever”, and that anyone who thought otherwise was “a deviant”. “We had a blunt but cordial conversation and the air has been cleared”, said Ailes, a former Republican operative.
Of course, they didn’t have to kick anyone off the stage, and Trump’s presence only served to boost ratings to record levels for the network.
“We’re going to keep the door open, we’re going to see what happens”, he said on Fox. Fox News featured significantly more coverage of Trump on Tuesday and Wednesday, and his infamous blood comments were conspicuously absent.
He refused to pledge to support the Republican nominee, whoever it might be, and rule out a third party run that could be devastating to the GOP’s chances in the presidential election. Women are having a good time live tweeting about their periods and trolling Donald Trump, who may or may not think twice before getting so personal with a female.
For her part, Kelly also briefly addressed the controversy on her show Monday night.
“Donald Trump and I spoke today”.
Omarosa Manigault and Katrina Campins, who both competed in season one of the program, vouched for Trump as someone they have known for 10 years.
“I would go in and I’d take the oil and I’d put troops to protect the oil”, Trump said. “This is a tough business and it is time now to move forward”.
“We agree to disagree”, she said.
