Pokken Tournament Confirmed for Wii U; Coming Spring 2016
Pokken Tournament announced for Wii U [IGN].
The announcement was made during this year’s Pokemon World Champion which is held in Boston.
Pokkén Tournament, an arcade fighting game from Namco Bandai’s Tekken Team, will make the transition from Japanese arcades to the Wii U worldwide next spring, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company global have announced. The website now features the announcement trailer that’s been shown earlier today as well as a few screenshots showcasing some matches as well as the playable Pokemon that will be included in the game at launch. The closing seconds of the trailer give us our first glimpse at “Pikachu Libre”, a never-before-seen evolution of Pikachu dressed in Lucha Libre garb.
Pokkén Tournament is a Pokémon-themed beat ’em up developed and produced by genre stalwarts Bandai Namco. Obviously, on the Wii U this system could be accommodated by DLC.
