WWE SummerSlam 2015: Live coverage & results
Los Matadores vs. The Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day vs. The Prime Time Players (Tag Team Championship): The victor, The Prime Time Payers.
Dolph Ziggler (with Lana) vs. Rusev (with Summer Rae).
Stephen Amell and Neville vs. Stardust and King Barrett: Winners Amell and Neville.
Kickoff stars at 6 p.m. ET and the main card will kick off an hour later. It will be interesting to see how the crowd in Brooklyn reacts tonight.
Intercontinental Champion Ryback vs. Big Show vs. The Miz in a Triple Threat Match: WWE has been driving home the point that The Miz can walk out as champion if Ryback and Big Show take each other out, but I don’t see that happening. Since Orton beat Sheamus at Battleground and has been getting the better of him in general, look for Sheamus to find a way to win this one.
The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper) vs. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
Lesnar will take on The Undertaker in a rematch of a previous WrestleMania contest won by Lesnar.
John Cena was guest co-hosting on the Today Show and Brock Lesnar was featured on ESPN this past week. If so, expect Reigns (or Ambrose?) to seek answers on WWE RAW.
Seth Rollins vs. John Cena (United States Championship, WWE World Heavyweight Championship). Seth Rollins did a Sports Illustrated site interview and Jim Ross, who had his Ringside with Ross Show scheduled for the Gramercy Theater Saturdaynight running in direct competition to the sold-out NXT show, was a guest on the Busted Open wrestling talk show on Sirius XM on Friday and also penned a prediction column on SummerSlam for SI. However, Cena will not have long to bask in his moment of glory.
Rollins is in the Big Apple for SummerSlam – and so many WWE fans have been waiting by the hotel to catch a glimpse of the wrestlers, that cops had set up a barricade on the street to keep everyone safe. Stewart made an appearance on “Monday Night Raw” on March 2. For that to happen, obviously, Undertaker has to be a full-on heel.
As much as New Day should be holding the belts (they should have never lost them at Money in the Bank), I can’t see them regaining them at SummerSlam.
