Casey Anthony Prosecutor Admits to Having Ashley Madison Account
The prosecutor who gained national attention as a key player in the unsuccessful case against Casey Anthony says he committed no crime on the cheating website Ashley Madison and will not resign his post.
“While I indulged my curiosity about the site it never went beyond that”, Ashton said at a press conference at an Orange County hotel, at which he apologized for his actions. He did choke up several times during the press conference, particularly as he mentioned his family and the embarassment it has caused them, Orlando Sentinel reported.
Ashton and his wife Rita have three children, and Ashton has four adult children from previous marriages, according to his biography on the state attorney’s website.
Ashton insisted his visiting the website had no bearing on his job, but he said he did access the site during work hours. However when requested why he by no means used it to cheat, he stated he simply could not undergo with it.
Ashton spoke at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. He was the lead prosecutor in the murder trial of Anthony, who was accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter in 2008. I did something incredibly stupid and I should have been called on it”.
