First reported by Asus Fanaticos (via Fonearena), the new variant comes with a massive 256GB internal storage, with other specifications seemingly identical to the 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants. Called Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, the smartphone was reportedly launch at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday.
Asustek began to market its ZenFone smartphones in Brazil in October 2014 and now accounts for a 2-3% share in the local smartphone market.
For the most part, the additional storage is the only thing that sets the Zenfone 2 Deluxe line of phones from the original Zenfone 2.
As for the rest of the device’s specs sheet, it is mostly unchanged and still pretty impressive. The Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe SE will sport a phablet-sized 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and beneath the glass you’ll find a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 clocked at 2.5GHz. As to be expected with a storage level this high, this is non-expandable. Finally, the ZenFone Selfie features twin 13 MP cameras and a dual-colour, dual-LED Real Tone flash at both front and rear.
Zenfone 2 Laser runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on the top. For those looking for a bit more customization, the Deluxe Special Edition also comes with two colored back cases, black/red and white/red.
