Man arrested on suspicion of rape following V Festival attack
The countdown is finally over and V Festival sponsored by Virgin Media is underway at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.
Accessorising with a pale blue shoulder bag and dramatic knee-high gladiator sandals, the mother-of-one oozed confidence as she partied at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex.
[A suspect] remains in custody being questioned by detectives.
Acts for the 20th festival include Imelda May, Ellie Goulding, The Script, Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Hozier and The Stereophonics.
The arrest was one of 41 made across the music festival taking place this weekend.
He was reportedly found slumped in the arena on Friday night, hours after police had warned about dangers of “unusualy high purity” substances circulating at the site. Inquiries are ongoing.
Police have been issued drug warnings throughout the festival, which attracts tens of thousands of revellers.
Officers are clamping down on laugh gas – with fines of up to £1,000.
At the festival’s sister site in Staffordshire a man was rushed to hospital with a suspected drug overdose.
Organisers urged anyone with the pills, or who saw anyone else with them, to alert police, stewards or security guards.
“If these are in your possession, dispose immediately and if you see anyone with these alert a steward, police officer or security”.
