‘NEWSWEEK’ ranks high schools
Three Fairfield County high schools were ranked among the best in the nation, according to Newsweek, in a story released this week.
The publication recognizes the 500 best high schools in the country, with global Academy in Bloomfield Hills coming in at the top for Michigan and eighth nationally.
“Livingston Public Schools is disappointed that Newsweek did not have the appropriate data from Livingston High School to include LHS in their annual listing of America’s Top High Schools”, said Lehren. 178, Carrboro High is No. 307 and Green Hope High School in Cary is No. 358. He said while Northview takes pride in preparing students for college, he also believes that schools should help prepare students for other career paths.
At Gatlinburg-Pittman, despite more than half – 54 percent – of students in poverty, the graduation rate was 100 percent, with 97 percent of graduates college-bound.
New Buffalo High ranked 221st. and Lawton ranked 407th. “The amount of effort and support that the teachers provide along with the results that the students produce really do speak for themselves in the Livingston school district”.
