Android Pay May Launch In The US This Week
Anyone that follows Android APK app updates may be aware that Wednesday is usually the day when Google rolls out software updates.
Bank of Scotland, TSB, Halifax, Lloyds Bank and M&S Bank will have to wait until later in the autumn to get Apple Pay on their iPhones.
The news comes from McDonald’s, as notices to employees have been posted at a number of stores in the US saying that Android Pay will launch on the 26th of August.
The fact that McDonald’s has been a fast-mover in trying new technologies seems to give credence to the rumors about it making the first move with Android Pay. McDonald’s was also among the early adopters of Apple Pay.
LIVESTOCK ALCHEMIST McDonald’s is reportedly ready to accept Android Pay in return for its foodstuffs and sugar water. There have not been official confirmations either from McDonald’s or Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), which means that the leaked memos could be wrong to some extent.
The firm, which takes cows and chickens and turns them into lunch, breakfast and dinner, is reported to be close to a launch, according to Android Police, which has at least one internal memo from one restaurant that has advised staff on the introduction.
It seems that everyone is getting in on the mobile payments business.
Meanwhile, Apple Pay launched in the UK in July and is now available for Natwest, RBS, Nationwide, HSBC, First Direct, Santander, Ulster Bank, MBNA, and American Express customers.
