No. 23 Boise State names Ryan Finley starting QB
The Boise State Broncos named Ryan Finley starting quarterback for the 2015 season Sunday. “He’s gotten better with his feel in the pocket and a good decision-maker….” Finley had been in a “competition” with redshirt sophomore Tommy Stuart, true freshman Brett Rypien and redshirt freshman Alex Ogle throughout training camp, even as last season’s backup was widely viewed as the front-runner. He’ll replace Grant Hedrick, who graduated after leading the Broncos to a Fiesta Bowl title last season.
The drama was thickened when Finley was arrested back in April and charged with two misdemeanors. Finley was already heavily favored to take over since he was the only quarterback on the roster with game experience. He completed 12 of 27 passes for 161 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
“When we know, it’s time for everybody to know”, Harsin said.
