Android Pay launch date leak
Android Pay is about to launch this week over in the US, at least according to leaks from a major fast food chain. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Apple Pay. McDonald’s is one of the Android Pay launch partners Google mentioned when it unveiled the new mobile payment service, along with Macy’s, Nike, Best Buy, Subway, and Staples.
Even though there hasn’t been any confirmation from Google or even McDonalds for that matter, it’s very likely that Android Pay could go live on the aforementioned date.
The rumor begins and ends with the notice of a few postings at various McDonald’s restaurants which convey the changes coming to McDonald’s mobile payment solutions, describing what Android Pay is and how customers will be able to use it, as well as what employees will need to do.
Reddit, and the aforementioned Android Police, are filling up with things that look like official information from McDonald’s that is being served to its employees.
Google announced its mobile payments services at the I/O conference earlier this year.
Not really, no. Samsung Pay only works with the newest Samsung devices and also does not use NFC.
Samsung Pay also only works in-store, not online. Many expect the mobile payments option to reach the US on September 28.
Android Pay is not officially available anywhere now , although Google claims it “will soon be accepted in over 700,000 store locations… across the US”. A new rumor circulating the internet over this weekend claims that Android Pay will be launching on August 26th, that’s this Wednesday.
Heads up, Android users.
