Rock Band 4 Costs $20 More on Xbox One Compared to PS4
It all comes down to an instrument adapter.
Rock Band 4 developer Harmonix Music Systems announced today that pre-orders for the stand-alone retail version of Rock Band 4 are now open, and the PS4 version will cost $59.99, whereas the Xbox One version is more expensive at $79.99. That price hike is thanks to a wireless adapter. There’s also a more affordable bundle that includes just the guitar and the game, which cashes out at $130. Rock Band 4 is slated for an October release across Microsoft and Sony devices (sorry, PC fans), and the game is looking to bring back the true party-game vibe and then some.
The PS4 standalone disc will cost the standard $60, but the Xbox One edition carries an $80 price tag.
The adapter supports up to four wireless Rock Band controllers simultaneously as well as many third party wireless instrument controllers for the Xbox 360.
Now that we know one of Van Halen’s tracks will be making it to Rock Band 4, are there any more new developments with this particular platform that we should be aware of?
Alongside this announcement, Harmonix revealed an early list of compatible guitars, drums, and microphones. Some Cake and Mighty Mighty Bosstones might help offset the bummer for Xbox One owners that they’re out an extra Jackson.
