Wolfsburg winger De Bruyne stalls Man City move in Bayern Munich hope

Manchester United are prepared to pay €75m for De Bruyne, but they haven’t made any formal bid yet.

“Kevin has a sporting and financial plan [offer] proposed that are hard to say no to”, De Bruyne’s agent Patrick De Koster said. He has a €50 million price tag which must be met by any interested club.

Till last week it seemed like Kevin de Bruyne was heading towards Manchester City.

Apart from De Bruyne, the Dutchman has been linked with Neymar, Thomas Muller, Gareth Bale, Sadio Mane, and Mario Gotze throughout the current window.

However, it was claimed that Munich could strike a deal with Wolfsburg by allowing the player to remain with the German runners-up next summer, when they will then buy him.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is still keen on more attacking reinforcements after missing out on Pedro, who chose to join league rivals Chelsea from Barcelona.

Fans and media have been calling for Juan Mata to be used in the No. 10 role that De Bruyne usually occupies and while he is also capable of playing on the wings, it would be another case of square pegs in round holes for the Manchester United manager.

De Bruyne is a player Chelsea signed in 2012 from Genk, only to sell him two years later, with the midfielder too impatient to wait for a chance under Jose Mourinho.
