Amazon’s New Prime Day Will Be a Massive ‘Global Shopping Event’
Now Amazon looks to unveil a Black Friday rival with its Prime Day.
There is a catch with the £59 deal: payments start right away, whilst Amazon normally offers a 30-day free trial of Prime, effectively giving you a month for free. Jet.com is also planning to introduce a membership retail website that may go up against the Prime program of Amazon. In addition to the revenues Amazon accrues from the membership fees, Prime members spend a lot more on the site than non-members – roughly $1,500 annually, according to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, compared with $625 for non-members. That means the vast majority of Amazon customers won’t be able to grab the deals, although Amazon does tout over 20 million Prime customers worldwide.
“Black Friday is an event because it kicks off the holiday shopping season”, he said.
On July 15, Amazon will host Prime Day, an worldwide daylong sale, the e-commerce company announced Sunday. Prime Day may be another reason why shoppers may enrol for the Prime service.
So yes, as a Prime “addict” I’ll be tuning in throughout Prime Day for deals. The company doesn’t disclose the number of Prime members, but analysts peg the number at about 40 million.
The sale will include deals across electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, lawn and garden, baby, health, beauty, sports and outdoor items and more. The event will begin at midnight and the offers will be switched around as often as every ten minutes. One grand prize victor from Canada will receive the CAD equivalent of $10,000 Dollars in Amazon.ca Gift Cards.
Amazon is throwing a twentieth birthday party and you’re all invited along for the mega sales. These artists fully immersed themselves in Prime and then created public art that could be enjoyed locally as well as used by customers as inspiration for the #PrimeLiving Photo Contest.
On Wednesday, July 15, it will offer Prime subscribers limited-time reductions on thousands of products across various categories.
