West Ham close to breakthrough for Spurs outcas
Emmanuel Adebayor’s potential move to West Ham is back on, with the club close to sealing a season-long loan deal, according to the Mirror. Harry Kane has started all three games, but Adebayor has still not made the bench despite Pochettino not being able to select another forward.
Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson netted a hat-trick in his side’s first ever Premier League victory.
Roberto Soldado realised that there was virtually no chance of dislodging the 22-year-old and opted to return to La Liga recently, joining Villarreal, whilst the outcome of a departure for Adebayor now seems likely as well.
The 31-year-old looked set to go on loan to Aston Villa in a move which would have seen him reunited with former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood. However, Spurs’ apparent willingness to compromise means that Slaven Bilic may now be able to land the Togo worldwide.
The Mirror reports that Spurs are prepared to contribute to Adebayor’s wages whilst he is in East London, which has prompted West Ham to up their interest. Talks were rekindled this past weekend after initial discussions broke down last week.
The Hammers failed to sign Adebayor on loan in January, and it was believed that they had given up on their pursuit of the striker this summer.
