Verizon-Branded DROID Maxx 2’s Back Cover Leaks Out
Assuming it’s a straight copy of the Moto X Play, the DROID MAXX should pack a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a hefty 3630mAh battery, a 21-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of expandable storage and a water-resistant design.
According to a rumor last week, it was suggested that the Moto X Play will actually be arriving stateside despite what Motorola claimed.
As of now, Motorola has yet to confirm the Moto 360 2, meaning at the very least that the watch itself could still be changed between now and the date of its announcement. I say that because the Moto X Play is most definitely not a flagship, and if this is the US version of that phone, well, it’s not a flagship either.
There’s always plenty of interest in new Motorola Droid smartphones for Verizon, and over the weekend there were some interesting developments on this. The non-Pure edition of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is expected to land on Verizon as well later this year, but there’s no word about the pricing – it should cost over $600 off contract. That should appeal to Verizon customers who want an affordable smartphone without being tied to a contract, and it ties in roughly with the price of the X Play in Europe. Now in terms of specs, we’re not sure what the DROID Maxx 2 could be packing. It may well be a carrier version of the Moto X Style since the device is only available through Motorola’s Moto Maker online, for consumers living in the United States. Bear in mind that none of this is official but Phandroid seems fairly certain that it’s sources are reliable.
According to reports, Verizon is also getting ready to unveil the Motorola DROID Turbo 2, which is believed to be created after the Moto X Style. Let us know with your comments.
