Tweets Come To Google’s Desktop Search Results
I’ve used the Google tweet search feature on mobile to cut through the noise on Twitter‘s app. Now when I’m Googling a breaking story or event on my PC, relevant tweets could rise to the top of the search page.
Now you can see Tweets in the Google search results as Google has added Tweets to their real-time search results on the desktop, reported IANS. The two firms agreed in May to place tweets in Google mobile search results, and that the same would apply to desktop at a later time.
Search engines such as Bing have integrated tweets in their search results for over a year.
The company has said it will make the feature available in other languages besides English.
The new agreement could help boost engagement at Twitter, as Pinterest and Instagram slowly take over a chunk of the market share. The function allows Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) to be dynamic on its search operations while Twitter gets more eyes on tweets. The embattled social network has grappled with suppressed growth this year much to the concern of investors.
The deal was aimed at helping Twitter generate more traffic to its site, supporting its plans to attract new users, and also show and sell advertisements to the account holders.
Google is shaking up its search results with a couple of key, interactive changes.
The news comes around six months after Twitter and Google announced their partnership, but this is not the first time that the two companies have joined forces. So far everything is quite with no indication from either camp.
