Kristen Stewart cast as the new… 11:19AM
Now, there’s another Chanel film (this time, a short) coming, from Chanel head designer/creative director Karl Lagerfeld himself, and starring Kristen Stewart.
So basically Kristen will be playing an actress who plays the legendary designer – meta! Women’s Wear Daily describes the project as a “fictional behind-the-scenes look at a yet-to-be-made biopic” about Coco Chanel. Lagerfeld conceived the plot, dialogue, costumes and casting, also roping in Harper’s Bazaar editor Laura Brown to portray an American journalist.
Praising his leading lady’s performance, Lagerfeld says, “She (Stewart) played it really, really mean”. “You only see her in tests and she’s complaining about everything”. He added that Stewart was mean with the director and the producer. Otherwise, you’ll be able to watch the day after, probably on the brand’s website.
Kristen Stewart has one truly varied resume to her name, but the one role everyone seems to remember her for is Bella Swan in Twilight.
Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld is writing and directing a movie about the company’s founder, Coco Chanel. The untitled film will premiere on December 1 at Chanel’s Metiers d’Arts show in Rome.
The 25-year-old American actress, who has appeared in campaigns for Chanel and is a regular at the front row at the label’s shows, will also star in Olivier Assayas new film titled “Personal Shopper”.
