Taylor Swift performs with Alanis Morissette
Taylor Swift may have finally outdone herself at her latest show. Swift noted that Morissette made it possible to sing about “raw feelings” and one’s life, and “you could get really, really mad if you wanted to”.
So far she’s already had OITNB Star Uzo Aduba sing a duet with her, as well as Kobe Bryant, Matt LeBlanc, Chris Rock, & Sean O’Pry swing by her concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles!
“I can safely and honestly say I would not be a musician if it had not been for this artist”, Swift told the crowd when introducing Maines.
“It’s fair to say so many of thew female singer-songwriters of my generation, including myself, would not write the way we do without her and her music”, Swift continued.
She also credited Alanis with inspiring her own music. So there you have it: Jagged Little Pill is the Old Testament on what it means to be a young woman in the modern world and 1989 is the New, updated for a generation with fibre-optic broadband and Tinder accounts. For her part, Swift tweeted hours after the show, “Tonight”.
So grab a bottle of wine and/or a carton of ice cream, think about your ex, and scream along with Taylor and Alanis’ performance. Much like Taylor Swift’s hit songs, “You Oughta Know” inspired intense gossip and debate over the identity of its subject. Who knows who her next guest will be?
First, Swift brought out Natalie Maines, and the two sang The Dixie Chicks song “Goodbye Earl“.
