Melissa McCarthy Posts Empowering Pic Of Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Crew
All box office monsters.
The actress took to Twitter to post an inspiring photo of a large group of women who are a part of the upcoming “Ghostbusters” film.
If the prospect of an all-female “Ghostbusters” movie doesn’t thrill you to the core, you should probably stop reading right here. She also gave a shout-out to fellow girl-power advocate Ellen DeGeneres.
The new paranormal fighting squad stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and McCarthy in the title roles.
“3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of #Ghostbusters”, Melissa McCarthy tweeted.
So even if you don’t like the fact that there are four women Ghostbusters in this reboot, keep in mind that there are plenty of other women working on this movie too, from script supervisors to stunt people to associate producers and more. Seeing as research shows women are still majorly underrepresented in Hollywood – both in front of and behind the camera – that’s sort of a big deal.
Star Melissa McCarthy recently showed the world just how much Girl Power the new Ghostbuster film is carrying-and it’s enough to burst several Proton Packs.
If a women-empowering, presumably hilarious (I mean, how can it not be?) film about busting ghosts doesn’t get you to the theater, I don’t know what will.
