Samsung might have a secret smartwatch to join the Gear S2
Following the preview at this month’s Unpacked Event and a teaser video released last week, a Samsung executive has now posted a snap of the watch adorning his wrist on Instagram.
References to a device dubbed the Samsung Gear S2 Classic have been discovered buried in the source code of the firm’s official website, reports Galaxy Club. The tag is notable because if there’s one thing the Gear S2 needs to be, it’s next level. Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch is also expected to offer support for Wi-Fi connectivity as well as Bluetooth v4.1. As you can see below, the Gear S2 is quite elegant, resembling a traditional timepiece (all circular smartwatches do). Its predecessor, the Gear S, had also arrived with a SIM card slot, but failed to generate much enthusiasm due to its high price and delayed arrival in the market.
Lucky for us, a Samsung exec is doing just that.
Samsung hasn’t announced any of the Gear S2’s spec details, but rumors have suggested that it could have a Super AMOLED display, Exynos 3472 processor, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 250Ah battery.
We knew Samsung’s new smartwatch would be round, and now we know it’s going to look great on your wrist.
