Sacramento ranks above average in honest cities survey
For their experiment, the tea company traveled to 27 of America’s largest cities coast-to-coast, from July 17 through August 10. Overall, 94 percent of people paid – slightly down from 95 percent previous year.
In Kennedy Plaza, one guy even paid with a fake million dollar bill!
For the first time in the history of the experiment, in the nation’s capital someone stole money from the collection box. And, Woman (95 percent) were more honest than men (93 percent), said the company.
Atlanta, you may be among the most adulterous, but at least you’re honest.
Honest Tea is encouraging people to highlight “the unfiltered, imperfect ‘#RefreshinglyHonest’ moments” in their daily lives using social media.
The most honest cities in this year’s ranking were Atlanta (100 percent), Indianapolis (99 percent) and San Diego (97 percent).
Brown hair came out as the most honest hair color with 96%.
Bald people were the least honest.
In general, Honest Tea said it sees a range of behavior in its experiment. The company used an honor system for taking payments: the suggested price for a bottle of tea was a dollar, but no one was present to make customers accountable. In other cases, executives said they sometimes have seen people put in $1 and take a few bottles instead of just one.
Honest Tea will donate all funds collected from the on-site social experiments to FoodCorps, a nationwide team that connects kids to real food and better nutrition.
