600 attended funeral for Maine woman killed in knife attack in supermarket
Police said Boudreau was killed Wednesday at a Shaw’s supermarket by 31-year-old Connor MacCalister. Wendy Boudreau was fatally stabbed in a Saco, supermarket August 19, 2015. Taylor said, “I was friends with her daughter first, I used to play women’s football with her daughter and Jeff and Wendy have been my landlords for three or four years and they’re just wonderful people”.
Those who knew Boudreau said she was well known and well loved. She graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco and worked as a nurse’s aide and office manager for the family business, in addition to working at the school. She was also especially fond of Christmas, and the slideshow included pictures of Boudreau prepping for the holiday and celebrating it with her children and grandchildren.
Linda Valentino, a state senator from Saco and a friend of Boudreau’s since elementary school, said her friend was “fun and daring and full of life”.
Magee said she hopes people who went to the vigil will be able to heal together. Valentino recalled Boudreau convincing her to head out for an ice cream cone one night and “accidentally” walking by Jeffrey’s house so the two could meet.
Last Sunday, Boudreau’s husband and children took her in a hearse for a final visit to Turkey Pond in Naples, where they had vacationed for 35 years. As a Thornton Academy student, Boudreau was a varsity cheerleader who was always up for adventure. It says he was planning the attack for a month and was angry with life and “off my meds”. He did not enter a plea and was ordered held without bail. LeBrasseur said he has not done that.
