Student grazed by bullet at WS Hornsby K-8 School
It happened at W.S. Hornsby K-8 School in Augusta.
The Richmond County Board of Education confirms that a female student at W.S. Hornsby School has been grazed by a bullet but is expected to be okay.
“At approximately, 10:45AM, August 25, 2015, it was discovered that a student brought a gun to school against state law and district policy”. Parents must bring an ID in order to pick up their student, according to school officials. Officials say he started playing with the gun and it went off and struck a female student in the side.
The student who was shot was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Names were not released and the investigation has not yet determined what charges the child who brought the weapon, or their parents, could face.
Officials in Georgia say an elementary school student suffered minor injuries after being accidentally shot by a classmate playing with a gun.
