Univision reporter escorted out of Donald Trump news conference
Jorge Ramos, the host of “AMERICA with Jorge Ramos” on Fusion TV, told CNN’s John Berman Monday that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is “spreading hate” when he talks about immigrants.
“No you don’t. Go back to Univision”, Trump said when Ramos protested that he had “the right to ask a question”.
Ramos continued his questioning and said, “I have the right to ask a question”.
NBC News correspondent Katy Tur this afternoon wondered how Donald Trump would continue to maintain excitement around his campaign as the novelty of his brash style threatens to wear off. How will the real estate mogul keep his brand fresh? I chose you and you’re asking me questions. Trump replied, “No you don’t”.
After Ramos was escorted out, a journalist questioned Trump about the Univision anchor. Trump said that he didn’t care if Ramos returned to the presser. Trump replied, “I don’t know really much about him”. “I don’t mind if he comes back, frankly”.
So he decided to travel to Iowa for Trump’s Tuesday evening event. Trump later said that he had nothing to do with the removal – pinning the blame on the security personnel. “They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting”.
Trump has frequently slammed the network since it made a decision to pull his Miss Universe pageant from its airwaves earlier this year.
Undeterred, Trump’s team responded defiantly to news that Univision had cut ties with his brand.
