Shots fired during live TV news report in Va.
Police are searching for a person who they say shot at multiple people near Roanoke, Virginia Wednesday morning.
The shooting occurred at 6:45 a.m., according to Franklin County Sheriff Department spokesperson Phillip Young.
Police in southern Virginia are investigating a shooting that happened as CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV was broadcasting a live report.
During a live interview from Bridgewater Plaza, approximately eight gunshots are heard as a reporter is seen interviewing someone on screen.
WDBJ7 so are asking for the prayers and is reporting the shooting incident involved among their crews.
WSLS said police are still looking for the shooter and hope to have a description out to the public shortly.
Based on a witness on the scene, there’s a major police presence in the region – around 30 to 40 policemen have answered. This incident remains under investigation.
