Hyundai to showcase its high performance sub-brand N at Frankfurt
It has been a while since we first heard about Hyundai’s future N Performance sub-brand and it seems like the wait will be worth it as the South Koreans just announced that everything will be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The brand said it will also show off its N philosophy which “builds on Hyundai Motor’s successful motorsport experiences and technology capability to drive future performance-oriented and race-track-capable models forward and bring “the most thrilling winding road” fun to customers who truly love cars”.
The 2025 Vision Gran Turismo’s arrival suggests Hyundai intends to create more striking cars, and the launch of its N sub-brand confirms it wants them to be fast too.
Also on display at Frankfurt will be Hyundai’s new-generation i20 WRC which will compete in 2016. Now undergoing testing, engineering and development the new vehicle is building up to its final rally-specification ahead of its debut at the start of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship at Rallye Monte Carlo. A digital version of the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo will be added to the game and available for players. It is based on the Veloster, featuring a very cool mid-engine layout consisting of a 2.0-litre turbo producing 221kW.
Manufacturers that were asked to participate to the Vision Gran Turismo programme – in which stylists from various manufacturers were mandated to design a virtual vehicle that would represent the future of their brand that would then be implemented into Gran Turismo 6 – sometime took the time to build these cars in the real world.
