Ronny Deila claims denied by Celtic players
Celtic captain Scott Brown says he is ashamed by his side’s performance after they crashed out of the Champions League following a 2-0 defeat to Malmo FF in the second leg of their play-off round clash. There is always a chance that I leave, we will see what bring in the coming days. “We didn’t look we were going to score a goal and looked like we’d concede a few”.
“I think it was a clear goal but mistakes are part of football sometimes the referee makes mistakes”.
“But if we had come in at half-time at 1-1, when we scored from a corner, then it puts a completely different complexion on the game”. “We’re at home, we’re expected to win, but we want to put on a performance and get this one out of the system”.
The former Derby and Nottingham Forest player denied personally feeling the pressure.
“Yeah it should have stood but like I said there’s no excuses”, he said.
“It wasn’t to be”. “The fans travelled in good numbers to Malmo expecting a good result, as were we, but unfortunately we didn’t do that”.
While the Champions League post-mortem gets under way, Commons turned his sights on winning the domestic treble as well as going on a run in the Europa League, with the draw for that competition due on Friday.
“We need to learn, we said we’d learn from past year and we’ve not”.
“We have to hold our hands up”.
The former Dundee United winger told the club’s official website: “It’s still a big competition”. We need to go away and have a big chat, learn from that and take everything on.
On whether the rumours of an exit affected his performance, he added, “It was no problem for me to focus on the match”.
