This Model is Considered “Too Big” For the Fashion Industry, Despite Being
“Butt too big”, they say.
The 5’11 stunner has worked in modelling since the age of 15, but dedicated the past year of her life to trying to break into the industry full-time since coming third in Sweden’s Next Top Model last year.
“It’s absurd and I hate it, ‘ the 19-year-old says in a disturbing YouTube video where she claims brands have refused to book her because of her measurements, telling her to ‘get in shape”.
But still, we hear horror stories of young models being told by the modelling industry that they are “too fat”.
Flabbergasted with the feedback from industry professionals, Agnes Hedengard has filmed a video showing a flawless figure and questioned the standards being set by leading agencies.
It really makes you wonder: exactly how do these people want models to both be healthy and that thin?!
We’ve spoken before about how ridiculous the modeling and fashion industries are…
Hedengård ends the video with a closing statement: ‘My objective of this video is to show everyone that a big part of the modelling industry thinks this is too big.
Agnes’s weight has become such a “problem” that she can’t support herself through modeling: She’s now working as a sales assistant in Stockholm.
However, her experience, she says, has taught her: “I am fine just as I am”.
She said she gave up modelling after five years, stating she found the counting calories too much of a chore, and now views the job as a part time gig.
And worryingly the rejection has lead her to have “anorexic thoughts”, but thankfully she has fought against them.
‘It’s hard, but if you put all the energy you normally would waste on these eating disorter-thoughts towards instead loving yourself, the bad comments are like water off a duck’s back.’
She’s gorgeous. I guess the fashion industry wants prepubescent girls, girls who look like little boys. See what you think?
