Ex-KKK leader David Duke backs Donald Trump: ‘He understands the real
The billionaire’s outspoken remarks on immigration have already alarmed the Republican institution and the general public backing provided by Mr Duke, is more likely to trigger additional embarrassment to Mr Trump and the celebration as an entire. Buzzfeed News first reported the comments on Tuesday.
Taking time out of his radio show rant about Jewish media domination, self-described racial-realist David Duke said last week that, with his policy proposals on immigration, Trump is “the best of the lot”. And he has really said some incredibly great things recently.
Duke said that while he was unsure about the sincerity of Trump’s views, he said he was glad Trump was bringing the issue of immigration to the fore. “And he’s continuing to move the envelope further and I think he understands the real sentiment of America”.
Trump has come under fire for accusing Mexico of sending “rapists” and “criminals” across the border and vowed to build a wall if he is elected.
“Trump, he’s really going all out”.
Duke ran for the Louisiana state senate in 1979 as a conservative Democrat and founded the National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP) two years later.
The reason behind Duke’s distrust is Trump’s “deep Jewish connections” and support for Israel, according to CNN. “So he’s certainly the best of the lot”.
“So although we can’t trust him to do what he says, the other Republican candidates won’t even say what he says”, he opined.
“And I think he realizes that his path to popularity toward power in the Republican Party is talking about the immigration issue”, he continued.
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, has converted to Judaism, is religiously observant and has been very vocal about his support for Israel.
