Mario Balotelli completes AC Milan return on season-long loan
Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has now completed his loan switch to AC Milan after just one season at Anfield.
The 25-year-old Italy global returns to the Serie A outfit – 12 months after the Reds paid £16million to secure his services.
He’s now agreed to join Milan on a season-long loan in a bid to reignite his stagnating career, despite admitting last season that Liverpool was his last chance to succeed.
In his first spell with Milan, he made 54 appearances and scored 30 goals. But the “match” is not over…
“I have a promise I must keep with myself, my family, Milan, [Sinisa] Mihajlovic, [Mino] Raiola and whoever wishes me will. I am restarting from zero”.
Mignolet told the club’s official website: “I’ve said it from the start – the ambition here is to try to win every competition we start in”.
“There wasn’t any need for a private jet, I took a commercial flight and returned”.
He also talked about the looming spectre of racism in football, which he has been of the most outspoken critics of – once saying: “I will not accept racism at all”.
“I will have room to do so if I deserve it. But I haven’t forgotten how to play football”.
“I’m 25 now, I’m not a baby anymore. I’ve wasted too many chances”.
“I knew that I would find another team, because I’m not finished”. But I am grateful to Milan, because, to tell the truth, I did not expect them to bring me back.
Balotelli endured a frustrating time of things at Liverpool in 2014-15.
“And so the news came as refreshing to everyone and as at now, I think they want to make a visit to the chief of the town to officially notify him on it and that shows how serious this visit is being treated”, he concluded.
