Zachary Quinto: I have no gay role model
He said that his portrayal of Spock was not only legendary, but also ended up inspiring and influencing countless numbers of artists and scientists in some way.
Qunito was naturally the flawless cast member to narrate the clip, as he plays a younger version of Mr. Spock, the role that made Nimoy famous, in the new Star Trek franchise.
In addition to a rather sweet and wonderful image of them utlising the “Live Long And Prosper” hand signal, the above video highlights the cast supporting Nimoy’s favourite charity, Omaze.
“But I still feel like I’m occupying kind of a unique space”, he added – although he does not intend to allow this to effect his career going forward.
The cast teamed up with charity-promoter Omaze for the venture, and all proceeds will be split evenly among the nine causes. There’s footage of Nimoy behind the scenes included in it, and it’s a touching tribute to someone really very special. In a move Nimoy would certainly be proud of, the campaign spotlights one of Nimoy’s favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Although St. Jude’s was the focus of the video, there are eight other deserving charities which will also benefit from donations.
