Ed Sheeran announces his own record label Gingerbread Man Records
After realising that he’s one of the world’s most in-demand recording artists, so, y’know, clearly knows what he is doing in this whole music industry biz, Ed chose to launch a brand spankin’ new record label and has rather aptly named it: “Gingerbread Man Records“.
Discussing his new venture, the 24 year old explained: “I’m extremely excited to be starting-up my own label”. He added: “My 1st signing is Jamie Lawson – he is an unimaginable talent, who I have known for a few years of time of time, & we have really been on tour this yr across Australia & the UK/Europe”.
The debut major label release of his self-titled album will come in 9 October, alongside with a headline show in Whelans on October 30.
You can check out the channel – Sheeran is very adamant that you subscribe – for a music video from Sheeran’s first artist, Jamie Lawson, as well as a chat with the label boss in the first Tea With Ed video.
Appropriately called Gingerbread Man Records, Sheeran made the official announcement on YouTube.
“I thought + was my big album and I’d plateau from there. Now that this one has exceeded everyone’s expectations, the pressure is on”, he admitted in a recent interview with British newspaper The Sunday.
