Mississippi State campus on lockdown after reports of active shooter

Mississippi State University issued an active shooter alert around 10:15 Thursday morning urging students to shelter in place. But, authorities say they are not certain they have the correct person in custody, according to Jackson, Miss. television station WLBT. The gunman was later reported near Lee Hall, the university’s main administration building. “Seek Safety immediately”. The also tweeted that the suspected shooter is in custody. A suspect is in custody, the university said.
No injuries have been reported and there were no reports of any shots being fired, according to the emergency Twitter feed. The school said it would resume classes at 2 p.m.
