But she returned home to Britain star in more episodes of the ITV drama, before Rachel was killed off in the final season’s dramatic vehicle crash.
According to the Mirror, ITV bosses are negotiating with the core cast – which included Hermione Morris, John Thomson and James Nesbitt.
As reported by Telegraph contributer Neil Midgley in July and followed up today by the Sun, the programme is expected to return to the channel’s flagship Sunday 9pm slot left empty when Downton Abbey ends later this year.
It focused on the ups and downs that relationships often have to tackle, through the stories of three different couples played by stars James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, John Thomson, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley and Helen Baxendale.
Cold Feet was sometimes billed as the British Friends, so it’s appropriate that Baxendale – who’d guested on the smash US sitcom – was part of the regular cast as advertising executive Rachel Bradley.
The ITV show ran for five series between 1998 and 2003.
Obviously Helen won’t be returning given that her character was shockingly killed off in he fifth and final series when a lorry crashed into the side of her auto.
