Dr. Dre and Eazy-E Were Supposed to Co-Own Ruthless Records
It’s the stuff of music industry legend that Suge Knight once threatened Eazy-E when he wanted him to give up claim to former N.W.A. member’s Dr. Dre’s contract, a move, as Stereogum points out, that later allowed Dre and Knight to form Death Row Records.
“One day I came into the office”, he recounted, “and [one of my clients] and Eazy were talking, and I said, ‘What’s going on here?’ And Eazy said, ‘You know this guy Suge Knight?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ He says, ‘Well, I’m gonna kill him…” Recently his son Lil Eazy took to Instagram to post a video of rap mogul Suge Knight explaining to Jimmy Kimmel how people have injected others with the AIDS virus.
Knight is now on trial for murder, after being accused of an alleged hit-and-run following an incident in a fast food restaurant auto park back in January.
Wright concluded by saying that the truth about his father’s death is “blinded by the fact that Eric has a lot of sex”. A video clip of the interview appears alongside the Instagram message.
Straight Outta Compton opens in UK cinemas this Friday (August 28).
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Eazy-E’s protégés, also spoke on their qualms about Eazy-E’s passing.
EB Wright criticized the picture and claimed it does not accurately portray matters regarding her father’s life.
Although he convinced Eazy not to go through with it, Heller said he later regretted his decision as the rapper was causing major contention between the groups.
