Man arrested after 2 people shot during disturbance at Texas State University

Eva Pickens, associate vice president of communications at TSU, said that the university was never put on lockdown, because officials believe the shooting to be an isolated incident. TSU student Cameron Allen said he was there when the shooting started.

“We heard some reports about some early altercation between the two gentlemen”, she told.

In February of 2011, the university released a video that shows students and faculty what to do in the event of an active on-campus shooter. The TSU officer discharged his duty weapon at the suspect, but missed. No word yet on what exactly sparked the confrontation.

Pickens says the victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. It wasn’t immediately clear whether either is a TSU student. The shooting happened on Blodgett Street around 8:30pm in the parking lot of the Tierwester Oaks section of the University Courtyard Apartment Complex owned by the university.

Police are investigating a shooting near the Texas Southern University campus that left one critically injured another wounded.

Both TSU police and the Houston Police Department are investigating the incident.
