Amber Alert issued for 9-month-old New Jersey boy
The New Jersey State Police have canceled an Amber Alert issued Monday after a 9-month-old boy was allegedly taken by his father in New Brunswick, Middlesex County.
The incident began at 9:20 a.m. when police were told the boy was taken by his father at knifepoint during a dispute with the child’s mother at her home in New Brunswick.
But it wasn’t immediately clear if the father, 26-year-old William Merino, has also been located. He has brown eyes and black hair.
NEW BRUNSWICK – A man who allegedly abducted his son from the boy’s mother at knife point now faces a multitude of charges. He has multiple distinct tattoos, including an Mississippi 13 marking on his left arm and a star tattoo on his neck, police said.
They say the boy was last seen wearing a yellow tee shirt, khaki trousers and black sneakers. He left the location on foot, police said.
