Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander stun in new Danish Girl poster
The first posters for transgender period drama The Danish Girl have been released.
Academy Award victor Eddie Redmayne is not afraid of taking on challenging roles.
The poster has officially been released, after images were leaked earlier this year.
In fact, the tag line is, “Find the courage to be yourself”-the overarching theme of the film”. The oft-delayed film went through a multitude of potential directors until Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) finally took control, bringing the story of Lili Elbe to life. The film additionally stars Ben Whishaw, Amber Heard, & Matthias Schoenaerts. “We all know that love stories are – and should – be told over and over again”. In an interview with Out Magazine, he shared the most important lesson he learned about gender from his most challenging role yet: “That it’s fluid, I suppose. And also that it needn’t be labeled”. We haven’t seen a single frame of the film so far and yet, Redmayne is already being tipped to be in the Oscar race.
Redmayne in 2014 portrayed Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
THE DANISH GIRL opens in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, November 27th, and in additional cities in December 2015.
