Tinder just launched verified celebrity profiles
Celebs – they’re just like us – swiping right with impunity. This is similar to what Facebook and Twitter do with celebrities and well-known individuals.
Tinder is hopping on the bandwagon and has announced plans to start rolling out “verified accounts”.
Notable public figures, celebrities and athletes will now receive a blue checkmark logo next to their name when they join the app.
This new announcement came after rumors began plaguing on social media, especially after the media reported on Hilary Duff and Leonardo DiCaprio who have used the dating app, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday. It’ll provide celebrities and athletes with a blue tick to show that their profile is real.
“Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles”, the company said in a blog post.
While it may lend authenticity to some of the 26 million matches Tinder says are made each day, you could also think of it this way: It’s just another way to be rejected by a celebrity. She expressed wanting to find a “normal” boyfriend and told her followers about the app, according to Inquisitr.
Getting verified by Tinder will likely be dependent on the user’s Facebook profile.
