Everton frustrated as Barcelona step in to wreck Yarmolenko deal
Instead, Sport believe Barca are strongly considering an approach for Yarmolenko, whose club had agreed terms with Everton on a €25m transfer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly held talks with Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko, according to reports.
Everton appeared to have all but signed the forward last week when it was claimed the two clubs had reached a deal but Barca’s late interest seems to have scuppered the Merseysiders with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazil worldwide Bernard now a top target instead.
However, the Premier League teams looks to have been dealt a blow after Barca joined the chase for the services of the winger as they look to find an adequate replacement to new Chelsea star Pedro. But Sport newspaper in Spain claims coach Luis Enrique has targeted Yarmolenko and while the La Liga side aren’t keen on signing players months before they can be played, Barca need to move quickly to pip Everton to his signature. However, Barcelona won’t match that.
The Catalan giants have proposed a deal that will see them paying €5m this summer to secure the move for the forward and another €5m in January, when Yarmolenko will move to the Camp Nou. Five million will be paid now, five million in January and ten million at the end of the season.
