Manchester United’s manager had the flawless reaction to Chicharito’s bungled
Sir Alex Ferguson was a master of the art of substitution.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal and his assistant Ryan Giggs shared a hilarious, quizzical look during the Reds 4-0 win over Club Brugge.
The whole world saw a stare that could end the career of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez at Manchester United after he missed a penalty.
Hernandez’s last goal for the Barclays Premier League club came against Newcastle United in April 2014, when David Moyes was still in charge.
He lost his footing and sent it low and wide of the right post.
Van Gaal maintains he does not need to sign a striker before the transfer window closes on September 1, and Rooney’s hat-trick against Club Bruges may ease the tension at Old Trafford.
IT WAS A job well done for Manchester United tonight in Belgium, although one player who probably wasn’t in celebratory mood afterwards was striker Javier Hernandez.
This season, Van Gaal has openly admitted that “Chicharito will be the substitute” to Rooney, the same as before; but should the little pea impress, the Dutchman also left the door open for the Mexican global to take the starting spot while Rooney cameos in a No10 role.
However, he has played in three of United’s five matches so far this season and appears to have a place in Van Gaal’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.
