Jaguar F-Pace to debut at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show
To modernize its image and broaden the preference for cars, the British company will soon offer the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace family that will include an SUV suited for most families. The F-Pace will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show and arrive at Jaguar showrooms next year. Whether on twisting mountain passes, flowing country roads or high-speed motorway cruising, the new F-PACE delivers responsiveness and precision with exceptional refinement and composure. It is expected to be built at the Magna Steyr factory in Austria with JLR having confirmed that it is shifting models out of its UK facilities to free up production capacity.
Derived directly from F-Type sports-car is the torque vectoring system, combating understeer by selective braking on the inside wheels, and the torque-on-demand all-wheel drive system.
We haven’t made any compromises or exceptions: the new F-PACE must be a true Jaguar and deliver the Jaguar dynamics DNA.
Underneath the sleek body is Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminum Architecture, the same underpinnings as the XE sedan.
The result? For the supercharged V6 XE S flagship, a double wishbone front suspension set-up with the same stiffness, camber and castor control as the F-Type coupe.
Should Jaguar, famed for its sporty saloons, be building an SUV (even if they insist it’s a Crossover, not an SUV)? You can bet Jag engineers had this German duo in mind when tuning the F-Pace. The core engines are expected to be the new four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline and diesel units.
Jaguar will also be able to charge more for a jacked-up baby model than it would a rival for the Audi A1 or Mini hatchbacks, according to RoadandTrack. The 23 Jaguar dealers today will expand to 40 dealers by the end of next year, as the brand prepares for a fresh onslaught of those dynamically gifted new models.
One of the most interesting parts of the F-Pace is the fact that it uses Jaguar’s all-new ‘iQ[Al]’ aluminium structure which is set to be extremely rigid yet very light in weight.
