Journey listed by Sony for a PlayStation 4 release in July

We have known thatgamecompany’s 2012 hit PS3 game Journey would be coming to PS4 some time this summer, but have yet to receive an official release date.

Update: Sony has confirmed Journey will be released on PlayStation 4 on July 21 and will be cross-buy compatible. The question is when.

Here’s what the site now shows. Upon its initial unveiling, Sony noted that the PS4 version of Journey would run at 1080p, rendering the sun-kissed sands of the game’s location like never before. “In the new app, you’ll see curated categories of games organized by theme, as well as more detailed game pages with descriptions, images and videos”. Play alone or in the company of a fellow traveller and explore its vast world together. It looks great and it has a Grammy-nominated musical score backing it up. With Journey, thatgamecompany (TGC) continues its tradition of delivering simple gameplay and accessible controls in a rich interactive environment that invites players to explore and experience emotional chords that are still uncommon in videogames.
