Phantom Actor Portraying Hafiz Saeed Kept Underground
“The way Kasab was sent to Mumbai to open fire at innocent people at the railway station and hotels, similarly in the film, we dabble with the idea of sending a guy from India to kill the person behind the bomb blasts”. It is thrilling and worth watching.
Some of the fans took to social media handles to post their review on “Phantom”. Faith doesn’t come from a country it comes from within and you have lost faith in yourself after 4 consecutive flop films.
Phantom story is pretty straight.
Disgraced former army officer Daniyal Khan (Saif Ali Khan) is recruited to assassinate the masterminds behindMumbai’s 26/11 attack, singling out the perpetrators as Sajid Mir, Damien Bradley, Sabahuddin Umavi and Haaris Saeed. Futher he said that “I am losing faith in Pakistan”, to which Hamza Ali Abbasi replied,”If u think it is amusing how a terrorist can go to court in Pakistan, I too find it amusing how a mass murderer of Muslims in Gujarat can become the Prime Minister of India”. Also, analysts suggest that “Raksha Bandhan” could prove a lifesaver for the movie as it could give the numbers a little boost. I must say, Mr. Khan, if a Pakistani public figure said something negative about India, I’m sure chaos would’ve ensued and films related to it would’ve been made 10 times, with the highest level of exaggeration and negativity. Even public response is quite good. The book, however, is more realistic and competent in terms of ideal story telling exercise, which you may miss out in the film.
Performance-wise Saif Ali Khan is convincing while Katrina’s performance is satisfactory. Saif wanted to throw off his Agent Vinod’s failure with Phantom’s success. Why don’t they call it #AgentVinod2 or mixer of all other Kabir Khan’s films.
Perhaps to distinguish itself from its recent predecessors, Phantom jettisons its faith in team work and puts the mission in the hands of Daniyal and Nawaz.
The plodding pace, choppy editing and amateurish exposition are relieved by slick action sequences, suitably dressed-up foreign locations (including Beirut) and convincing production design. She has already worked with Kabir in Ek Tha Tiger, so she was ready for all the challenges thrown by Kabir.
Sohaila Kapur’s short yet compelling part deserves a mention as she wordlessly conveys all that her character internalizes. Initial box office reports reveal that Phantom has not taken off to a great start. As previous releases this movie is also have Holiday weekend, so a good jump would be seen on Saturday & Sunday. So watch it this weekend. Make sure you drop your thoughts after watching the film. We at galaxyreporter, would be rating 3.5/5 stars.
