Anthony Martial agrees personal terms with Manchester United
Martial won’t be coming to Old Trafford unless the Reds up their bid…
The Red Devils have managed just three goals in four Premier League matches and struggled during a 2-1 defeat to Swansea City on Sunday.
But talks between the two clubs are expected to continue on Monday, with United having done business with Monaco on the final day of last summer’s transfer window by sealing the unsuccessful season-long loan deal for Radamel Falcao.
They have been linked with massive – yet speculative – moves for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Barcelona’s Neymar and Bayern Munichs Thomas Muller but all three of those deals are high unlikely, especially in the current window.
Manchester United has made a bid in excess of €50m for Monaco forward Anthony Martial, according to RMC.
Martial, 19, scored nine goals in Ligue 1 for Monaco last season and has now become an overnight big-money Man United target, a flurry of reports from France indicating the deal is at an advanced stage.
And now top French outlet Le Parisien says Martial has agreed to join United after they submitted an offer worth €50million (£36.2m). Martial would, therefore, become the sixth major arrival of Van Gaal’s second season in charge.
Having agreed the sale of their striker Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen for 12 million euros, Manchester United has apparently moved swiftly to fill the gap in their squad.
