However, at one point during the show Caitlyn is seen showing off one of her new dresses to step-daughter Kim Kardashian – before being told that Kim’s mum and Caitlyn’s ex Kris Jenner owns the same frock.

After thanking fans for their “overwhelmingly positive” responses that included “sweet messages, letters and gifts”, the post – attributed to Jenner – revealed the celebrity’s wish to learn about and best represent her community.

Caitlyn confessed that until recently she had “totally isolated” herself from the transgender community, but now says, “I have a lot of catching up to do!”

“We all as a family prayed and hoped that people could understand it”, Kim said in a speech at the Commonwealth Club in California.

Jenner is still trying to adjust to her new life, and she says she is lucky enough to be surrounded by a supportive group of people, including some new trans friends.

Caitlyn’s children aren’t the only ones who are proud.

She confesses that initially she anxious that when Caitlyn made the decision to transition that she’d be losing a son: “My first feeling was ‘I lost my son, ‘ then I thought, ‘You know what?” It’s just horrendous.
